When it comes to the safety of one's offspring, nothing should be left to chance. This also applies to the transport of small family members in the car. It's for good reason that Mercedes-Benz has developed the DUALFIX 5Z child seat, in which infants from 3 months to 4 years of age (approval according to R129 for children from 61 to 105 cm and 18 kg body weight) can travel safely and comfortably. In conjunction with the FLEX BASE 5Z, the seat can be installed in both rear-facing (body height 61 - 105 cm) and forward-facing (body height 76 - 105 cm) position via a practical rotating function. The base also guarantees simple and ergonomic installation while at the same time ensuring optimum safety. The rotating function also makes it possible to place the child in the child seat and take them out quickly and easily. A total of 6 adjustable rest positions, in turn, ensure comfortable travel, while the soft padded seat side bolsters provide protection in the event of a collision. The DUALFIX 5Z is also equipped with a V-shaped head restraint that can be easily adjusted to the child's height. This restrains the movement of the child and thus safely protects the child's neck in the event of an accident. The 5-point seat belt system, which distributes the balance over all 5 points (shoulders, hip and between the legs) on the protective shell of the seat in the event of a collision, also provides added safety. The belts are provided with a soft special protective padding that can be washed as required. The exclusive covers in anthracite and beige, made of high-quality materials and created by Mercedes-Benz designers, are also removable and washable; replacement covers are available separately. Another plus: integrated Side Impact Cushion Technology (SICT) inside. This weakens the forces in the event of a collision and directs them away from the child. The technology also ensures increased safety at every angle, so that no adjustment is necessary when backing up or turning the child seat.
